In early 2010, several of our musician friends were diagnosed with serious illnesses within months of one another.  We quickly realized that our local music community is fragile and needs to be protected.  In order to play music and go on tour, local musicians are often forced to take part-time or freelance jobs that do not provide any sort of medical coverage. Friends With Benefits was created to help provide free supplemental insurance to as many local musicians as possible, so that we can keep our local music scene vibrant and healthy and support these artists as they pursue a career in music.
